One Piece: What To Expect From The Egghead Incident

Jun 15, 2023

The climax of the Egghead island arc approaches.

One Piece's Egghead Island arc is currently reaching its climax and fans are very excited for the story to unfold from here onwards. The Egghead Island arc spanned all over the New World and gave fans different points of view, focusing quite a bit on all power factions in the world. Fans got to see quite a bit of the Revolutionary Army, thanks to Sabo and Dragon, some major fights involving the Worst Generation, thanks to Kid and Law, and even the Marines in action, thanks to Garp.

While all the action that the fans got to witness was great, the biggest focus of the Egghead Island arc is Egghead Island itself. On this island, a major incident of massive proportions is going to take place and the narrator of the story has named it as the Egghead Incident, declaring it to be a massive event that will shake the entire world of One Piece.

On Egghead Island, things are quite complicated at the moment. A full evacuation is currently underway and that is because the island is facing utter destruction only in a matter of hours. This process to destroy the island was underway long before the Straw Hat Pirates even got on the island, which means the target of this attack is not Luffy and the crew, but instead, it is the genius scientist of the Navy, Dr. Vegapunk. Vegapunk has been working with the World Government for quite a long time and although they believed him to be a trusted ally, Vegapunk was quite curious about the true history of the world.

He has delved into quite a lot of information and, currently, he is a threat to the World Government, possibly the biggest so far. Vegapunk has all bits of information that the people of Ohara died for. He has stored everything in his brain and he is continuing to study the ancient scripts and doing the best he can to uncover the truth about the past civilization that existed and was far more advanced than the world that fans see in One Piece today. Sadly, for Vegapunk, one of his very own satellites, York, ended up betraying him and sold him out to the Navy. This is precisely why a full-scale attack was launched on Egghead Island, with the goal of erasing it from the face of the earth itself.

Vegapunk, although not powerful, has quite a lot of advanced scientific technology and it is precisely for that reason that Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, one of the Five Elders, accompanied Kizaru on this mission. Since Egghead Island is lined with strong Pacifistas and even powerful Seraphims, a fleet of 100 ships with an Admiral, Vice Admirals and even one of the Five Elders were dispatched. However, what they didn't know is the fact that one of the Emperors of the Sea, straw hat Luffy, would find his way to Egghead Island.

The Egghead Incident is a massive war that is going to take place on Egghead Island very soon. Oda has previously teased this war to be an incident of massive proportions, that will shake the core of the One Piece world. Perhaps, this might just be the biggest incident in One Piece following the Paramount War, even though two Emperors of the Sea just fell a short while ago. This is simply down to the fact that the repercussions of the Egghead Incident are being hyped up to be grave, however, fans do not know what exactly the result of this war is going to be. What fans do know is that the Egghead Incident is going to be a war between the Navy and their hundred fleet Army, led by Kizaru along with Jaygarcia Saturn, against the Straw Hat Pirates and Dr. Vegapunk, and their allies.

This war is going to be massive and will be the first test for Luffy as one of the Yonko of the Sea. Luffy is going to be tested to the fullest in this Egghead Incident and fans will certainly see some incredible action. However, most importantly, there might be some major lore revelations here since Luffy, who is now officially Nika, is going to come face-to-face with one of the Five Elders, Jaygarcia Saturn.

This confrontation is going to be historic and the war is going to be on a scale that fans have never seen before, with the Straw Hat Pirates at the center of it all.

Surely, the Egghead Incident is going to be a massive war that will see all the members of the Straw Hat Pirates and their allies fight together. This means fans will get to see several incredible fights and, this time, these fights will not be against other pirates, but the Navy. It has been quite a while since the Straw Hat Pirates have traded blows with the Navy. The last time the crew fought against them was during the Enies Lobby arc and fans already know how incredible that arc was. Now, after years upon years, fans will see this crew come face to face with the Navy once again, however, this time, the Navy will bring out its top dogs.

Kizaru, one of the three Admirals of the Navy, is going to be seen in action after a very long time. Fans will also likely see several Vice Admirals, such as Vice Admiral Doll and Vice Admiral Doberman return to the mix. However, what the fans are most excited to see is Jaygarcia Saturn in action. Saturn is one of the Gorosei and most certainly very powerful. Even his Devil Fruit powers were teased previously in the story and fans would definitely want to see Luffy go up against him. The threat of Kizaru can be dealt with by Zoro and Sanji combining their strengths. Given that Kizaru is an Admiral, neither of these two characters would be able to defeat them on their own, however, by combining their powers, it would certainly be possible. This would leave room for Jinbe and the other strong officers of the Straw Hat Pirates to combat the remaining Vice Admirals on Egghead Island. Of course, there are other problems here as well, such as the Seraphims and the 50 Pacifista.

Although some fans might not remember, in the Egghead Island arc, the control hierarchy of the Pacifistas was given to the fans, and the Five Elders was set at the very top, surpassing even Dr. Vegapunk's authority. This means that all the Seraphims and the 50 Mark 3 Pacifistas that are currently on Egghead Island can and will be mobilized against the Straw Hat Pirates. The war is going to be one where the Straw Hat Pirates could end up on the back foot, however, this opens the room for their allies to intercept and join the battle. Fans could see the likes of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet come into play here and that is very much possible since news of the Egghead Incident is currently spread all over the world, thanks to Big News Morgans.

Whatever ends up happening on Egghead Island, fans can rest assured that Straw Hat Luffy is not going to lose this war. For one, every single Emperor in this arc has won their respective fights and Luffy is not going to be different. And, most importantly, Oda recently made Luffy one of the Four Emperors of the Sea. There is absolutely no way that the author is going to have him lose his very first battle as an Emperor.

However, if that isn't enough to convince, it must be remembered that Luffy losing this war would serve no narrative purpose here. However, if he does end up winning this war, and the World Government takes a massive blow, especially if Saturn and Kizaru end up falling, this could end up being a trigger for a large-scale war where the World Government goes all out, and trigger the final sequence of one piece itself.
