Remember Recess, the animated series about a group of kids navigating the dynamics of elementary school during recess? It apparently left quite the impact on Selena Gomez, who recently channeled lead character T.J. Detweiler in a backwards baseball cap. Watch out, Ashleys! Selena Gomez is here to take back the playground.

OK, maybe Gomez wasn't actually cosplaying the aforementioned T.J., but she did remind us of the fearless hero in a series of Instagram Stories where she donned a backwards black snapback with a loose white sweater, gold chain, and low-key ponytail. All she had to do was toss a green jacket over the top, and she'd be ready to rule the playground alongside King Bob. (Of course, T.J.'s hat was iconically red, but my point still stands.)

In another Story shot, seemingly taken inside a restaurant, Gomez wears the hat with a black and white striped sweater, giving it a laid-back vibe for a day of running errands and hanging out.
